Recent Auction Highlights
13 November, 2013 - Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries
Last month, Robert
A. Siegel held an auction of worldwide stamps and covers with a strong
Canadian representation. Here are some of the better items that were
of note. Of particular interest were the imperforate pairs from the
20¢ and 50¢ Small Queen set which sold for record prices.
Also featured in this sale was a very rare Port Hood envelope shown
PORT HOOD ENVELOPE
Siegel notes that two 1¢ surcharges to make up the Two Cent rate on a Port Hood envelope is most unusual. This envelope is ex Dale-Lichtenstein and came with a 1971 Stanley Gibbons Certificate.
CLOSED FRAMELINE VARIETY
We were very impressed by the quality of these Canadian stamps. The prices realized were converted at the rate of $1.00 U.S. equals $1.05 Canadian.
